Signal in the Noise

With a big mouth and an even bigger heart, TASC Techschool aims to change both the city of Amsterdam and the outdated image of technology. This vocational school prepares young people between 12 and 16 for a future in technology and engineering. Students learn by doing, working on real-life projects that tackle major technical challenges facing the city of Amsterdam.

We designed a brand identity for a new generation of makers, developed a 360° campaign, and supported the team in producing their first school events.

TASC - Tomorrow is yours to make.

System and Application

An identity system for the new generation of Amsterdam makers.
The logo takes its form from the world of craftsmanship, its shapes echo the curves and angles of a screw, while the symbol beneath draws inspiration from Amsterdam’s iconic Andreas cross. Technology comes to life through motion: elements twist, turn, and shift like parts of a machine. The grid system is based on a technical blueprint, the foundation from which every idea is built and every creation begins.

TASC’s color palette reflects its ethos, “Morgen moet je maken” (“Tomorrow is yours to make”). It captures the hues of air, the warm tones of sunrise and the calm shades of sunset, balanced by TASC green, a nod to the school itself. Supporting tones of off-black, white, and soft grey’s provide a strong contrast that ensures clarity and accessibility, making all content easy to read for every student, including those with visual or reading impairments such as dyslexia.

All of this comes together in a nice promo video from the first sketches and prototypes to the final, larger-than-life results. It’s the visual journey through the process, the people, and the playful spirit that make this projects so cool.
